Microwave Oven Testing

MICROWAVE OVEN RADIATION LEAKAGE TESTING

One of our trained Radiation Surveillance Technicians will visit your premises and conduct the following tests on your microwave ovens.

1. RADIATION LEAKAGE TESTING -

Microwave leakage testing involves measurement of the radiation levels around the oven to ensure they are below the limits set by the Australian Standard AS/NZ60225.2.25. Testing is undertaken using an advanced microwave survey meter calibrated by a NATA accredited laboratory.

If the microwave oven is leaking radiation above allowable limits, we will recommend that unit be repaired or replaced.

NOTE: Small leakage detectors used by a many Test & Tag technicians / companies should not be used as they cannot be calibrated and do not comply with Australian Standards.

2. POWER OUTPUT READING -

This test involves the testing of the wattage of the oven which can indicate the efficiency of the magnetron under normal circumstances.

3. PHYSICAL DAMAGE INSPECTION -

The various components of the microwave oven is inspected for damage to ensure correct functioning and safety.

A Microwave Safety Systems compliance sticker will be placed on each complaint unit tested (reducing any perceived risk of injury). If the unit fails the physical damage inspection or the radiation test, a “Do Not Use” sticker will be placed on the unit.

A detailed Radiation Surveillance Report of the results, comments and recommendations, will be sent to you for your records.
